for Use

This document provides instructions for setting up, using, cleaning, maintaining and disposing of the 3000 Real Ear IN1 insert earphone, including safety information and calibration responsibilities.
The insert earphone is an electro-acoustic transducer. It converts the electrical signal supplied by the audiometer or fitting unit into an acoustic signal. The acoustic signal travels through an insert tube and a disposable ear tip into the patient's ear canal. The insert earphone has no controls, no power source of its own and no signal-generating circuitry: the connected system determines every frequency, level and signal type, and the insert earphone neither amplifies nor attenuates what it receives.
The insert earphone has a blue transducer housing for the left ear and a red transducer housing for the right ear. Each transducer housing has an insert tube, to which a disposable ear tip is attached. The insert earphone is supplied with one of four cable/plug variants, depending on the system it is to be used with:
- 2000-1 (Mini-DIN-8) — for connection to the Auditdata Measure 2000-1 Fitting Unit. Calibration data is stored in the plug.
- DIN-8 — for connection to Auditdata legacy Primus and Unity3 systems. Calibration data is stored in the plug.
- OEM (jacks):
- Mono jack 6.35 mm — for connection to third-party audiometers with separate left and right transducer sockets. The left plug is blue, the right plug is red.
- Stereo mini-jack 3.5 mm — for connection to third-party audiometers with a single stereo transducer socket.
