No Power or Board Not Detected – Power & Connection Issues

Quick summary

The Measure board is not powering on or is not recognised by the PC. This guide walks you through power supply checks, cable testing, and software detection to get your board up and running.

⚙️ Before you begin

  • Have a replacement power cable and adapter available for testing if possible.
  • Make sure the Measure software is installed and you have a working USB cable to hand.

Step 1: Verify the power cable connection

Is the power cable securely connected to both the board and a working power outlet?

  • Yes → Proceed to Step 2.
  • No → Take these steps:
  1. Push the power cable connector firmly into the board until it clicks.
  2. Plug the other end into a wall outlet you know is working (test the outlet with another device if unsure).

Check if the issue is resolved. If yes - you're done ✓. If no - continue to Step 2.

Step 2: Test with a different power outlet

Have you tried a different power outlet?

  • Yes → Proceed to Step 3.
  • No → Unplug the unit and plug it into a different, known working outlet.

Check if the issue is resolved. If yes - the original outlet was faulty. If no - continue to Step 3.

Step 3: Replace the power cable and adapter

Have you tested with a different power cable and adapter?

  • Yes → Proceed to Step 4.
  • No → Swap in a replacement power cable and adapter from your stock and retry.

Check if the issue is resolved. If yes - the original cable or adapter was faulty; replace it. If no - continue to Step 4.

Step 4: Check the board LED indicators

Are any LED lights illuminated on the board?

  • Yes → Proceed to Step 5.
  • No → The board is not receiving power. Double-check all power connections and retry Steps 1–3. If still no LED, proceed to the escalation path.

Step 5: Confirm board detection in software

Is the board recognised by the Measure software?

  • Yes → Proceed to Step 6.
  • No → Take these steps:
  1. Make sure all cables are fully connected.
  2. Close the software completely, then restart it.
  3. If still not detected, restart the PC and relaunch the software.

Check if the issue is resolved. If yes - you're done ✓. If no - continue to Step 6.

Step 6: Test with USB cable only (no power cable)

Does the board get detected when connected only via USB, with the power cable disconnected?

  • Yes → The power adapter is likely faulty. Replace it and test again.
  • No → The board may not be functioning correctly. Proceed to the escalation path below.

🔺 Escalation path

If none of the above steps resolved the issue, contact Auditdata Support.

Please have ready:

  • Product name and version number
  • Device model and serial number
  • Firmware version
  • Your account name and contact details
  • Which steps above you already tried
  • Exact error messages or codes shown
  • Screenshots if available

✅ Expected outcome

After completing these steps, the board LEDs should illuminate and the device should appear as connected and recognised in Primus, Measure, or Unity software.

📝 Additional notes

  • Always test power cables and adapters individually to rule out a single faulty component before concluding the board itself is at fault.
  • If the board is under warranty and hardware failure is suspected, contact Auditdata Support before attempting any further disassembly.
